Virtually all modern mass produced shotguns have poor finishes to the woodwork, which rather lets them (and the owners) down. Even guns costing £25,000 Yes! Twenty five thousand  can be affected.

Above shows two Beretta Fell )/U shotguns with fine finished oil rubbed stocks. Top converted to straight hand, with new checkering, with dummy side plates. Hand finished butt (includes forend) with more practical buttpad fitted.

It never ceases to amaze me how very expensive guns have nice figured walnut stocks ( as you'd expect) but spoil them with a kitchen finish that hides & blinds the grain. One of the reasons of course is, it hides blemishes in the wood. Another is walnut varies a lot in figuring, so hide this & they all look much the same! Nobody complains that one stock is better than another! Anyhow for wise shooters whose large investment needs to be seen other than the barrels & action, Don can provide a beautiful hand oil rubbed finish to put the gun back in balance, & really show that lovely walnut you have paid big bucks for! Cost is a realistic for stocks with teardrops (dropping points)  Shown is a splendid Beretta DT 10 stock hand finished.
